If you have a substantial amount of g, you have a very good chance of doing well in life. The trouble is, if you don’t have it, you never will. You can’t buy it, you can’t pay for it or pray for, you can’t work overtime for it. You can’t bribe someone for it or coerce them to give it to you. You can’t make it and you can’t fake it.
Wait. Do you really wish for 85,000 Substack followers? That's a lot of follow up (if you care about following up?)🤣
Ah, intelligence is so very complex. I think we humans used to think we had the whole thing figured out. And, by the whole thing, I mean life.... Yes, there are other types of intelligences, like "Emotional Intelligence. " I can write lengthy books, but cannot fix anything, from computers to hammering a nail in the wall. I'm not kidding.
I get the smiley emoji on Substack by hitting control/command/shift on an MacBook Pro . That combo will let you put emojis anywhere.
I get what you are saying about different intelligences. I can deal with the most difficult people. And I am so intrigued by the mysteries of space but I can't , for the life of me, follow the scientific conversations around the Universe. I'm so very interested in the conversations around intelligence. I have nine siblings and they are all intelligent and hard working. They clearly have different kinds of intelligence .. among them are doctors, lawyers , business leaders, educators, social workers and a couple of combined professions (doctor as hospital administrator, for example). Our parents were Depression era children and did not have the opportuinty to attend college. TOo bad.
