NOTE
Donald Trump has been hurling insults at Ukraine’s president, Volodymir Zelenskyy.
In recent days he has called Zelenskyy:
A dictator
A moderately successful comedian
doing a terrible job
Trump falsely claimed that the Ukrainian President’s approval rating has fallen to 4%. Actually it’s 57%.
Perhaps Trump’s most hurtful, false and pointless statement is this: he told reporters that Ukraine did not need to be involved in peace negotiations because the war “should’ve ended in three years. You [Zelenskyy] should never have started it. You could have made a deal.”
Zelenskyy started the war? Really? Russia invades Ukraine, Putin the unsmiling, sociopathic dictator, murders hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, but in Trump’s world, Putin’s move is “genius.” In 2017, when Bill O’Reilly called Putin a “killer,” Trump responded with this evasive non-sequitur: “There are lots of killers. Do you think our country is so innocent?”
When Russia invaded Ukraine, and the United States offered to fly him to safety, this “moderately successful comedian,” courageously stood his ground, saying, “I need ammunition, not a ride.” Channeling his inner Churchill, he added, “We are not putting down arms. We will be defending our country because, because our weapon is truth, and our truth is that this is our land, our country, our children, and we will defend all of this.”
I’m a conservative; I voted for Donald Trump I voted to ferret out government waste, fraud and abuse, to close the border, to deport criminals, to build-up our military, to eliminate DEI discrimination, to improve education, to become energy independent again, to stop our universities from being indoctrination centers, to put criminals in jail, and to balance the budget.
I realize some of my Republican friends will not agree, but we are not required to roll over and play dead when the President’s policies are erratic and harmful.
I voted for Trump for the good of the country, but with the good comes the bad and the ugly; it’s a package deal.
Now, if only the Republicans in our "government" would stop being sheep & kissing------
I know they don't want to lose their jobs, but how can you look at yourself in the mirror? How can you be a good role model for your children? Many of my friends talk about leaving the country--- a few have taken steps already--afraid we will not have another presidential election again. Fred, are you at all scared??
